Bite-sized edtech finds for the whole school community. This week, OpenAI’s latest release, a resource on AI impact, setting AI expectations, a podcast on cellphone bans
Couldn't agree more. Sora 2 is truely mind-blowing. I'm super curious, what makes it "concerning" for you? Is it about deepfakes, or something deeper about the tech's impact?
Daniel, thanks for your question! My concerns are mainly around the further scaled up risk of misinformation and fake news and the impact that will have on younger generations. The way we taught media literacy even 4 years ago is likely ineffective against the sort of Ai-generated content teens (and the rest of the world) will now come across on social media platforms. Then in terms of the tech's impact, I can't help but wonder what impact mass adoption of a much more resource intensive technology (video generating-AIs) like this one will have on the environment. Those are some quick thoughts!
